A few days ago, the Fifth National Congress of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association was held in Beijing, China. Professor Dong Jiahong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, President of Tsinghua University affiliated Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital and Dean of the School of Clinical Medicine, Tsinghua University, has been newly appointed to the position of Vice president of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association (CMDA).
Dong is an exceptionally renowned expert in the field of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery and liver transplantation, having pioneered the concept of "precision surgery", which has been widely applied across various clinical disciplines, such as pancreatic surgery, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, plastic surgery, and interventional therapy, also resulting in the promotion of further innovation in contemporary surgical concepts and paradigms.
Throughout his academic career, Dong has published more than 170 SCI-indexed papers, led the formulation of IEEE international standards and 15 industry guidelines, and published six monographs as Editor in Chief.
