The executive vice chairman of the labor union Zhuang Wang serves as the medical manager, and Fei Song, the associate chief physician of orthopedics, serves as the medical officer. Sheng Wu, the attending physician of the emergency department, serves as the deputy medical officer, and 8A head nurse Liping Cao serves as the head of nursing. At the same time, the hospital sends 13 physicians and 13 nurses from more than ten departments of orthopedics, emergency, sports rehabilitation and surgery.
Since entering the venue on March 27th, the medical security team quickly formed groups to conduct actual combat drills. During the sporting events , all the wounded were effectively treated. The three medical stations received more than 50 wounded and sick. The types of diseases covered internal medicine, surgery, ear, nose, throat and skin systems. Three of the wounded and patients were quickly and safely transferred to designated hospitals due to their medical conditions.
According to Zhuang Wang, the medical security team has repeatedly discussed the characteristics of curling injuries and common emergencies in winter, and performed targeted exercises on key subjects. For hidden health hazards discovered, they actively understand the their condition and provide green channels, a complete emergency set for fixed transfer and isolated transfer of fever patients was figured out. “Holding large-scale winter events under the normalization of epidemic prevention and control will make the medical security work more specific and difficult, and there is no precedent to follow.” Xuyan Chen said , the medical security team has withstood the real stress test and is more confident to complete the work of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Games .
It is reported that as early as March 3, Xuyan Chen, Zhuang Wang and others led their team members to the Ice Cube (original Water Cube) of the Winter Olympics curling competition venue to inspect the venue environment and training. Team members visited the Ice Cube competition venue successively to learn and understand the history of the venue, functional zoning and venue characteristics. In addition to being familiar with the venue, Zhuang Wang publicized the schedule and team training plan. Fei Song and Sheng Wu discussed the preparation of emergency plans,personnel organization and manpower deployment at each site before the sporting events. Since March 5th, the security team has carried out professional training in the hospital, and clinicians have taught the team members the relevant knowledge and treatment experience of professional medical first aid in the Winter Olympics.
The Ice Cube Stadium is the venue for the 2022 curling competition and the first venue to start the Winter Olympic Games. According to the venue planning, a game can accommodate more than 4,600 audiences. During the 2022 Winter Olympics, the medical security team of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital will be one of the first teams to work and provide security services for the longest time among all the Winter Olympics medical security teams. In order to ensure that the team members have sufficient energy and high quality to complete the medical security task, the hospital party committee attaches great importance to it. During the Winter Olympics, the number of team members will increase from 31 to 42, of which 20 are physicians and 20 are nurses.
